Meet Alane, Mallory, & Eric
Alane Boyd
Alane has kept her 40 lb weight loss off since 2013, and created BurgerFit and Cooking with My Friends as a way to get her family eating better. Her health journey started in 2012 after being diagnosed with high blood pressure and obesity. Frustrated and determined, Alane decided to make small, sustainable changes in her diet so that it would be maintainable for a lifetime. Now Alane maintains a healthy weight range and has incorporated quick and easy recipes that keep her picky family members eating better!
Mallory Hill
Mallory Hill has worked for the Upper Cumberland Home Builders Association since August 2019. As the Executive Officer for the UCHBA, Mallory coordinates HBA events including the Parade of Homes and The Upper Cumberland Home and Garden Show, manages membership, and works with local schools to promote Vocational Education Programs. Prior to working for the HBA, Mallory handled marketing, HR, and event planning for several home remodeling companies. Originally from Texas, she has lived in Cookeville since 2014 with her husband Colin, a professor at Tennessee Tech University, and her two children, Hudson and Paige.
Eric Walker
I work with a strong sense of community, and I have built my experience in construction and real estate development. This sense of hard work ethic and involvement in my community has made me strong leader and planner for our local area. As a Graduate of The University of Tennessee and a concentration in Legal Studies and Political Science I have been well prepared for life’s challenges. My daily hustle is as President of Walker Construction Company, LLC, and as a Co-Owner and Manager of Walker Investment Company, a local family business that has been improving and building properties in the Upper Cumberland area for generations. More importantly, I serve our community as a Council Member for the City of Cookeville, and a member of the Cookeville Planning Commission. I also currently work within my local industry as the President of the Upper Cumberland Home Builders Association. Community Service is also important to me, as a Board Member of Cityscape and Fall Fun Fest, a Rotarian, and when needed as a Volunteer with a local Food Pantry.
How We Met
One of the things I love about BurgerFit Fridays is being able to connect with people that may only be acquaintances. I’ve spent a brief time with Mallory when hosting the women’s group of the Home Builders Association of the Upper Cumberland. Eric and I had run into each other and simply introduced ourselves at events we were both at. Bringing them BurgerFit this Friday was a way that I could get to know them better, bring them burgers, and support the amazing things they do for the community.
