Gluten-Free Date Whip
What inspired this recipe?
Jump to RecipeI still laugh thinking about the first time I made this Gluten-Free Date Whip. It was on the 4th of July, and I wanted to have a dessert alternative to the cake my brother was bringing. I also thought this might be a good “icing” for the cake. It didn’t win over my family, and they completely laughed when I tried serving it. I’ll admit, it didn’t go well with the butter cake… but it turns out that we were serving it wrong! This Gluten-Free Date Whip served with bananas or apples is out of this world.
If you use a non-dairy cream this recipe follows other dietary lifestyles as well including dairy-free, whole30, paleo, and AIP (if you omit the vanilla, too)!

The whipped cream is the queen of this very rich, creamy dessert. You can also try to add small slices of other fruits like pineapple and watermelon but it should be served immediately. If you have guests or friends coming over, you can make this ahead of time and keep in the fridge but stay away from using watery fruits.
Thank you Tessa. You may also want to top this date whip with cinnamon. I recommend it!
