Meet Alane and Billy
Alane Boyd
Alane has kept her 40 lb weight loss off since 2013, and created BurgerFit and Cooking with My Friends as a way to get her family eating better. Her health journey started in 2012 after being diagnosed with high blood pressure and obesity. Frustrated and determined, Alane decided to make small, sustainable changes in her diet so that it would be maintainable for a lifetime. Now Alane maintains a healthy weight range and has incorporated quick and easy recipes that keep her picky family members eating better!
Billy Mac
Billy Mac is the Director of Original Content and Specials at Stonecom Radio in Cookeville. He’s always looking for new and fresh content ideas for the Stonecom family of stations, including podcasts, on-air specials and online content. In addition he also is a full in on air talent on 106-9 Kicks Country, Lite Rock 95.9 and Rock 93-7. Billy is also a local singer/songwriter who loves being on stage. He’s a little bit country, and a lil bit rock and roll with some blue eyed soul thrown in the mix. His wheelhouse centers around 90s country, but he also draws inspiration from the world of 70s and 80s pop, southern rock and soul. He welcomes requests at all of his shows and does his best to be a human jukebox. Come check out his show and see if you can find a song he can’t play.
How We Met
I first met Billy Mac, briefly, while attending the Stonecom open house celebration when they first moved into their brand new offices. He became a big fan of BurgerFit after I told him about our burgers! I later had the opportunity to talk with him more and get to know him better when I was a guest on Emily Newman‘s 95.9 radio show called, The Scene, which he is the producer for. Billy Mac is also a well known musician in the Upper Cumberland/Nashville area. One of these days, I am going to make it out and get to hear him play live rather than listen to videos he shares on social media!
