What inspired the recipe?
I’m always trying to find a dessert hack so that I can enjoy something sweet but it not be loaded with sugar. Stephanie Zarling and I do a lot of traveling for work together and always sharing food we brought. On one of our drives she said she bought some almond butter but wasn’t a fan of it so mixed in some of her pumpkin spice to put on her apple slices. She shared it with me and it was delicious! I then thought how good it would be if it was mixed with baked apples… I created my own pumpkin spice recipe and created this baked apple recipe. It was so good!!! Don’t wait till fall to enjoy this. Eat it all year ’round!

Does keeping it in the jar allows it to preserve the apples? I have grandkids that are coming over for the weekend and I want to make this recipe ahead of time.
Hi Laura! By putting this spiced apples in sealed glass jars straight into the fridge, it will last about twice as long as they would in the plastic BUT they won’t last that long because you’ll eat them before they have a chance to spoil. 🙂
