Easy, quick, delicious, and Whole30 Cranberry Salad Dressing. Breakfast salads are my go-to every morning. It is an easy way for me to get a bunch of leafy greens along with my eggs! With this salad, I also threw on a breakfast BurgerFit sausage. I made the Carrot & Thyme recipe using ground pork. I love changing up ground meats when making BurgerFit recipes. It keeps things from getting boring and also gives us another way to sneak veggies into my family’s diet!

I’ve gone from feeling like I always had to buy pre-made salad dressing to exclusively making my own at home. They really are so simple to make and typically only require a few ingredients that you probably already have on hand.

I only buy unsweetened cranberry juice and you have to look carefully at the ingredients to make sure you are purchasing one that isn’t loaded with sugar and other sweeteners. I really like the cold-pressed cranberry juice from Lakewood. It isn’t organic but I do like that is not made from concentrate. The other organic cranberry juices that I have access to at our grocery stores are made from concentrate.

Typically I would use honey or maple syrup in my salad dressings but I love the flavor of a little grape juice to sweeten my cranberry juice so I used some Tsali Notch grape juice I had on hand.

A few substitution ideas for the grape juice:

  • honey
  • maple syrup
  • apple juice
  • orange juice

Learning to make my own salad dressings, like this one, makes me feel less trapped at mealtime. – Alane

I am a big fan of Koops’ Mustard and love using their Organic Dijon in my salad dressings but really, any of the Koops’ Mustard would be delicious in it! Here are a few ideas:

This can be a perfect addition to your holiday salads when cranberry tastes great with everything! I always like adding a little chevre or feta cheese along with my cranberry dressing salads.

I bought a raspberry dressing, and it’s not as good as your cranberry dressing! -Angela Boyd
