Healthy Paleo Gummy Bears

My son, Fletcher, loves gummy bears, but it isn’t something he gets often since store-bought gummies are usually loaded with sugars, dyes, and other additives. I wanted to try making some on our own that was a healthier version of this sweet treat. I love the way these Healthy Paleo Gummy Bears turned out, and so does Fletcher! The ingredients are simple and completely natural. We used grape juice from a local winery that we love. It is 100% juice with no added sugar or dyes. Then we used real gelatin from Vital Proteins and then added some Superfruit C from Sarvaa Superfoods that is loaded with antioxidants and vitamins. This makes for the perfect way to sneak those nutrients into something the kids will love!
This is also something perfect you can do with the kids! My son is 4 and almost did everything by himself. I love activities like that! It is also a fast turnaround time from start to finish. Within 30 minutes, the kids will be chomping down on their healthy paleo gummy bears. They don’t have to wait for hours for them to be done!
Whisking is the hardest, longest part for the younger ones so they may need help with that part. Using the eyedropper keeps them from making a big mess! If your gummy bear mold didn’t come with one, I highly recommend buying one! It made doing this easy and fast.
Before you start, put the gummy bear molds on a baking sheet and make room for them in your refrigerator. I learned this from experience! The molds are flimsy so by starting with them on the baking sheet, it will keep you from spilling any of the gelatin. It also relieves a lot of stress by already having a place in the refrigerator for them.
If you don’t want to wait to get molds in to do this with your kids, you can pour the gelatin into a baking sheet and cut into squares after it cools!
This recipe was inspired by Bakerita!

  • In a small pot, heat grape juice over medium heat until steaming hot (just before boiling).
  • Add honey and stir until completely dissolved.
  • Turn heat down to low and whisk in the gelatin very slowly, whisking non-stop. Whisk and stir until gelatin is full dissolved.
  • Whisk in Superfruit C Sarvaa Superfoods if you're using it. Do this part last so that the heat does not start to breakdown any of the valuable nutrients!
  • Once everything is fully dissolved, remove from the heat and place the pan near the gummy bear molds.

  1. Pro-tip: Before you start, put the gummy bear molds on a baking sheet and make room in your refrigerator. The molds are flimsy so by already having them on the baking sheet, it will keep you from spilling any of the gelatin. It also relieves a lot of stress by already having a place in the refrigerator for them.
  2. If your gummy bear mold doesn't come with an eyedropper, I highly recommend buying one! It made doing this so easy and kept my 4-year-old from making a complete mess.
