It's time to elevate your burger with cabbage slaw
Ready in under 10 minutes, this gluten-free and dairy-free Asian-Inspired Cabbage Slaw is an amazing side dish to any meal but best when served with a BurgerFit burger, of course! This recipe is a great alternative to the traditional mayonnaise-based coleslaw recipes!
I am a very picky coleslaw eater, mostly because the dripping mayonnaise that is puddled in the traditional American version does not appeal to me! But this recipe had me loving coleslaw!! It is such a refreshing change to eat a coleslaw without mayo. If you can make it the day before when you will be serving it, it will allow more of the flavors to combine into the cabbage.
Not only do I love just using this as a side with my burger but also putting it directly on top of my burger! Especially if I am enjoying it on a gluten-free bun. It really elevates your burger, as I like to say!
When making the recipe, try to slice the coleslaw and thinly as possible. While you won’t lose your crunch from the cabbage and carrots, it will help the flavors absorb into them better. The coconut aminos, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger that goes into the coleslaw dressing gives you such a bold flavor punch! If I am being honest, coconut aminos is one of my favorite things to use in the kitchen!
One of my favorite things about this gluten-free and dairy-Free Asian-Inspired Cabbage Slaw is that it is super quick and easy to make! The most time-consuming part is just getting the ingredients together but once you do, it comes together in minutes.
It’s a perfect way to get in a ton of healthy nutrients and vitamins in your meal with very little effort!
Even though I used the Koops’ Arizona Heat Mustard, you can experiment with any of the Koops’ Mustards! Some other ones that I think would be great in this recipe are:
Other than Mung Bean SunGarden Sprouts, some of the SunGarden sprouts that I think would be great on this burger are:
With this being such a versatile side, so many of our BurgerFit recipes pair great with it. A few of my favorite BurgerFit burgers to eat with this Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free Asian Coleslaw are:
With some of the leftovers, I cooked some on the skillet and scrambled eggs in it and it made a delicious, new second meal!
This is the only way I’ll eat coleslaw! -Alane
